Element and CR-V - what's the difference?
From crazydriver on June 10, 2008
Need good fuel efficiency but some space as well. Would like to take roadtrips to the mountains.

Do you really even need to ask? *rolled eyes* As for style the Element wins hands down (CRV nerdy, unattractive). Reasonable--there's a heck of a lot more room in an E than the CRV (and E is cheaper). Gas mileage? Why are you concerned with such trivial things :D -gisele

We too own both, a CR-V and an Element. I am biased too because I drive the Element. I would propose you buy the EX and enjoy some of the upgrades for about the same price as the CR-V. The E is MUCH roomier and way more flexible in packing in stuff. If you need no more than 4 seats, the E wins by a long shot!

Element's rear windows don't roll down. Suffers from extreme wind noise. Seats 4, never more. Suicide doors can be an inconvience if you have people entering and exiting rear seats on regular basis. Suicide doors suck beyond all belief if someone parks close to you., Element has more space. Element's rear leg room is phenomenal. Element has best rear seats, ever. Element has split tailgate, not stupid giant hatch. CRV probably has better mileage. The Element has stain resistant seats. Element hasn't updated in 6 years and will probably be discontinued. CRV has just been updated and will be around for a long time. The Element is a gigantic box that greatly polarizes everyone who sees it, although it makes an awesome activity vehicle for a truly active, outdoor life. The CRV looks like your run-of-the-mill CUV. YMMV. I own one, and voted for the other.

The CRV is a better family car, and the Element is for singles, and couples.
