  Haven't driven the Clubman... do you really need a Mini wagon? Kind of an oxymoron...

  Do you want truly exciting to drive and lovely to just look at or sit in or practical / rational point A to B with all my gear? Car on left is former, car on right is latter. They really do drive THAT different. As for styling, have you gone to the dealer and looked at the two cars? Do so and you'll be amazed at the differences inside and out... night and day in complexity and details and "look of expense".

  To me, it comes down to this: If you want a convertible, you are getting as a not inconsiderable bonus the much much more exciting-to-drive, lovingly styled, and full-of-character first generation mini cooper design (that goes for inside styling, outside styling, engine, suspension tuning, and driving feel). Far more car than the second generation mini cooper design.

  But if you are cross-shopping japanese econoboxes or veedub GTI's, then by all means the Clubman is the better choice in that group.
