IMHO, Hyundai has put out some pretty crappy cars in their time. I still shudder when I think back to the old Pony's. (and that's no offense meant to Koreans or Hyundai employees out there. you all know what I'm talking about, right?)
But I have to admit I like the styling on the Genesis, and the overall package seems like it might be good value?
I can't believe I'm even entertaining this thought, but should I consider the Genesis any further? Or any other suggestions for sedans in this class and price range?
Anyone have more recent experience with Hyundai cars in general? Is their quality better? I guess they've been around for a while now. Thanks.

Hyundai has definitely come a long long way since the Pony/Excel days. Sounds like the Genesis is worth checking out...especially since it was the 2009 North American Car of the Year.

I would definitely go with the Genesis. Hyundai's quality, safety &* reliability have improved greatly since they revamped their entire lineup starting with the 2005 Tucson and 2006 Sonata. For the pricing you can't come close to the features offered in the Genesis without paying thousands more.

The Genesis is a great car - we're driving the 4.6-liter V8 model right now for a review, and we're very impressed with what you get for the money. However, the other cars you compared it to (TL & G37) are both sport sedans and the Genesis is a luxury sedan. Big difference, so it depends on what you want in the car. If you want a smooth luxury sedan, go with the Genesis - there is no better choice. If you're looking for a sports sedan, the G37 is a great choice.
