Hillary wants 55 MPG by 2030

Hillary plans to achieve this sky-high standard by investing $2 billion in plug-in hybrid vehicles (like the upcoming Chevy Volt, a subcompact car expected to cost $40,000), pouring still more into biofuels, and extending $20 billion to help automakers make upgrades. The government would then minimize consumer losses by handing back $10,000 in tax credits. Curiously, there was no mention of the details about every current automobile being outlawed from existence, about alternative fuels being nowhere near ready, or that every citizen would be forced to spend thousands more for a less practical, poorer-driving car. Remember, you deserve who you vote for. (via Cars.com)Brian Sy is a featured contributor for vLane.
