WTF Classifieds - Cars From the First Great Depression

No, not model year 2009. We're talking about the originals.

It's been a crazy couple weeks. Bankruptcies, bailouts, widespread ranting about personal and corporate responsibility. While nobody really knows what the fallout of adding $700 Billion of debt relief into the economy will be, many are saying it's the start of a major correction in the stock market similar to the Great Depression of the 1930's. What does that mean for the world of cars? If the 1930's were any indication, we're in for shorter, fatter cars without a lot of ornamentation, and smaller windows and headlights. Check out the evolution of cars through the 1930's. Oh yeah, and if you want the real deal, rather than waiting for future models, each of these is for sale on eBay.

The 1934 Packard Bayliff Coupe was actually built in the 1970s by the people who bought the Packard name after the company folded in the 1950s. Some other companies have offered "Packards", but Bayliff's was the most faithful and authentic looking.
